“Never Alone” is the first full length release from hard rockers Stitched Up Heart and is out on Another Century records. Led by the strong vocals of front woman Alecia “Mixi” Demner, the band’s sound offers a great blend of heavy riffs and soaring, melodic choruses.
The opening track “Finally Free” has been a breakout hit on satellite radio and is a great showcase for Demner’s voice. The creepy vibe of “Monster” follows that up with some outstanding guitar work from lead guitarist Merrit Alfero. The record is heavy and powerful yet has a real life affirming feel to it with lyrics that focus on coming out of a personal darkness and focusing on hope and strength. The album closer “I Can’t Breathe” is brilliant, opening with soft piano and bluesy, sultry vocals from Mixi before transitioning to screaming,punishing guitars and scorching vocals with a huge, swelling chorus.
“Never Alone” is a solid release from a great up and coming band. Demner is destined to be a huge star so check out Stitched Up Heart now before they become the next big thing.
