SECOND LEG OF DATES KICK OFF MAY 19
ANN WILSON has extended her in-progress and acclaimed ANN WILSON OF HEART tour with a second leg of dates running from May 19-July 2.  The iconic vocalist will make tour stops in ChicagoSan DiegoPhoenixDallas and Atlanta, among other cities.
“Expect to see some Heart songs, amazing covers, and new songs that I’ve written,” said ANN recently in an interview with WHAT’S UP? MAGAZINE (Maryland).  “They’ll see things that really influenced me and they’ll see me stretching out as a singer and improving, hopefully.”  She went on to explain her song selections for the tour to OFFBEAT (Louisiana): “I just stretch out, try stuff…Cool lyrics.  Tender, human lyrics. Meaningful for the times…It’s cool to find some things that really represent how I feel now.”

Musicians on board for the ANN WILSON OF HEART tour include Craig Bartock on guitar (Heart member for a dozen years, who also performed in the Ann Wilson Thing for two years) from San Francisco; Andy Stoller on bass (the Ann Wilson Thing member for two years) from Seattle; Denny Fongheiser on drums and percussion (Heart member in the 1990’s for two years) from Los Angeles; and Dan Walker on keys.

ANN‘s musical gifts are legendary. Throughout her career, she has created a truly impressive body of work (“Crazy On You,” “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Dog & Butterfly,” “Straight On,” “Even It Up,” “Mistral Wind,” and many more).  However, her greatest gift, and first “calling” is singing. Her voice is considered to be among the best ever, with its vast range, amazing power and sheer musicality. It has inspired legions of great singers, across every genre of music.
Here’s some early critical praise of the ANN WILSON OF HEART tour

“[The evening] proved nothing short of spectacular. The two-set lineup included her dynamic solo work, Heart classics and exceptional covers. And Wilson’s delivery was thrilling. It seemed to be a very personal, almost storytelling concert that spanned her expansive career and influences. It wasn’t a Heart show, but it was a rock show.”

About The Author Kris Engelhart

I am a small business owner, freelance writer, and part-time piano instructor in Charlotte, NC. My musical career started at the age of five when I was forced into taking piano lessons. I played flute in the school band and added the guitar as a young teen. There is nothing I would rather do than be at a live show. My first concert was Shaun Cassidy at the Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo in 1978. My top five live shows ever are: 1. Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band – Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo, NY 1984- They played for 3 ½ hours and it was awesome. 2. Carolina Rebellion- Metrolina Expo Grounds, Charlotte, NC, May, 2011 – The first ever Carolina Rebellion featured over 15 bands with Avenged Sevenfold headlining. Non-stop music for over 12 hours. 3. Chevelle- Food Lion Speed Street, Charlotte, NC, May, 2008 - The first time I ever saw Chevelle live and I was hooked! 4. Skillet with Red- Bojangle’s Coliseum, Charlotte, NC, April, 2010 – Skillet is one of my favorite bands and they totally kick it live. 5. 106.5 The End’s Weenie Roast #9- Verizon Wireless Amiptheater, Charlotte, NC , October, 2003- Featured Staind, Shinedown, Three Days Grace.
