June 21, 2017) – Three time Grammy winner Ben Harper officially announced the Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals Summer 2017 tour today, which will travel through 15+ U.S. cities such as Chicago, Telluride, Tacoma, Atlantic City, and, for the first time, Anchorage, Alaska. The tour will take the band to a variety of unique venues around the nation, including the Minnesota Zoo, The Ride Festival, and Robert Mondavi Winery, and Montauk’s well-known venue The Surf Lodge, among others.

“For myself and this band, playing live is what an instrument is for, it’s what a song is for. A song is not completed until it reaches someone somewhere. Playing live gives us a chance to complete the songs each night,” said Ben Harper.

The 3-time Grammy winner began his career with his 1994 debut album, Welcome To The Cruel World, and has gone on to release a string of eight studio albums over a decade and a half. This extraordinary run, featuring the Innocent Criminals, established him as a singularly powerful songwriter and performer with range across multiple genres and an unmatched ability to blend the personal and political. The accolades poured in – Rolling Stone hailed his “jewels of unique and exquisitely tender rock & roll,” while Entertainment Weekly praised his “casual profundity,” and Billboard said his music “reminds us of the power and beauty of simplicity.” Massive, international sold-out tours, Top 10 debuts in the US, Gold and Platinum certifications worldwide including Diamonds on the Inside which was just certified Gold, plus a slew of TV appearances cemented Harper and the band’s status as genuine global stars.
