SMITH TO OPEN ON FALL ARENA TOUR

(July 28, 2017) – Multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated band Fall Out Boy has unveiled the music video for their single “Champion” today – watch HERE. Starring Josh Brener (Silicon Valley),  Timothy Granaderos (13 Reasons Why), Ashley Iaconetti (The Bachelor), and Jaden Smith (The Get Down), the video depicts each of their characters embodying the song’s shared anthemic and defiant message in their own personal situations.

“I can’t think of a worse drug than fake reality…we create and can be whoever we want, yet our choices often leave us lonely and unfulfilled,” says Fall Out Boy bassist & lyricist Pete Wentz of the Brendan Walter & Mel Soria-directed video. “Smash the fake reality. Don’t just sit around and kill time.”

The band made the television debut of “Champion” with a performance on NBC’s Late Show with Seth Meyers. Watch the performance HERE. The song was most added at pop and hot A/C radio this week, and is already climbing the alternative radio charts; gaining more than one million streams weekly, the track has already amassed more than 10 million total streams. Last night, the Empire State Building shined its world famous tower lights in purple during a live performance at Z100’s Block Party to illuminate the sky and complement the musical aesthetic of M A  N   I    A.

Earlier this week, Fall Out Boy garnered a 2017 MTV Video Music Award nomination for “Young and Menace” for Best Rock Video – their third consecutive nomination in the category, including their 2015 win for “Uma Thurman.”

In addition, Smith will also join Fall Out Boy as opener on their previously announced 20-city North American fall arena tour, which kicks off in Cleveland, OH on October 20 and will travel through cities such as Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Oakland and San Diego before concluding in Phoenix, AZ on November 18. In addition, $1 of every ticket of the tour will go towards the band’s newly launched Fall Out Boy Fund which will support a number of charities in the Chicago area.
