Vince Neil Ink Grand Opening @ , Las Vegas, Nevada 9-12-09

They say whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Weeellll…not necessarily. Especially if you visit the brand new location of Vince Neil Ink at The Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino to get your latest tattoo groove on. On September 12, 2009, Motley Crue front man Vince Neil and Counts Kustoms, Danny Koker, celebrated in true rock ‘n roll fashion at the shops grand opening along with some of the businesses top tattoo artists. Invited VIP guests were able to come in between 7-8:30pm to peruse the spacious 2800 sq. ft. shop filled with Motley Crue and Vince Neil memorabilia. The Girls, Girls, Girls custom chopper was parked right in front and tons of complimentary VNI swag was provided to each guest. Vince and Danny were on hand doing interviews with camera crews who were also filming for his upcoming reality TV show.
At 8:30, Vince Neil’s solo band which consists of JEFF BLANDO on guitars, DANA STRUM on bass and ZOLTAN CHANEY on drums (you have to actually see this guy perform, an absolute monster and entertainer on drums) blew the roof off the casino with their performance. Now, I’ve never been a huge fan of Vince’s singing, but, I do have to say this, the performance blew Motley out of the water. Vince sounded incredible and the band was solid and tight. I think I heard that statement from almost everyone that I walked by on my way back up to the tattoo shop to celebrate at the star studded VIP after party. It was an absolutely incredible performance, I was stunned. The band played mostly Motley hits including Kickstart My Heart, Wildside, Don’t Go Away Mad, among many others.
There was a public after party over at Vince and Danny’s (now famous) local rocker and biker friendly Feelgoods which went on until the early morning hours with the house band, “Blandini,” playing. I left at around 2pm and the band was still going strong. One of the surprise guests who joined him onstage was Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt/Quiet Riot) who sang a medley of Led Zeppelin songs and kept the club packed to capacity even at two in the morning.
What an incredible evening. I wish both Danny and Vince much success with their new endeavors, now, what to do for my next tattoo?
