Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society played a special acoustic set for 50 lucky people in Detroit, Michigan this past weekend. Local radio station 101 “The WRIF” gave out tickets to this early 3pm show before the big headlining show that night at the Fillmore. Members of the BLS Fan Club that purchased special tickets that included a meet and greet, were also invited to stay and watch the performance.
Fans were greeted by Zakk Wylde’s humor and jokes in the lobby of the venue, while he and the band signed autographs for the Black Label Society Fan Club members. Immediately following, both the club members and radio station winners were escorted into the Fillmore Theater for a special intimate set with Zakk performing solo with just his keyboard.
Everything moved along swiftly, and Zakk said they were behind schedule, and this was gonna be quick, because Children of Bodom needed to do their sound check. There was a small keyboard on stage, with the huge BLS curtain behind. Zakk sang two songs, as fans watched, listened, and took pictures. He joked more between songs, referring to his lasagna and meatball diet on this tour. After the two songs, Wlyde stated they were out of time, but agreed to a large group photo of everyone with the band.
