Eddie Money @ Bears Den (inside Seneca Niagara Casino), Niagara Falls, NY 12-31-10

It was the first of two New Year’s Eve shows for Eddie Money at the Bear’s Den, inside the Seneca Niagara Casino, in Niagara Falls, New York. The show started shortly after 8 PM as Eddie ran out to center stage with his beginning number “Two Tickets To Paradise.” He was well received and the crowd sang-a-long to this fan favorite. He followed up with another hit “Think I’m In Love,” and then he introduced his daughter Jesse, who joined him on the stage to perform his latest single “One More Soldier Coming Home.”
Throughout the performance, this eighties icon referred to his ‘ladies of eighties’ and told the crowd that he loved them. He even mentioned and thanked a local radio personality (Janet Snyder – WKSE 98.5). He also made several jokes between songs. His cheeky sense of humor added to the fun of the show and it was a good time had by all. He introduced the band during “Gimme Some Water.” He was backed by a solid core of rock veterans featuring guitarist Tommy Girvin, bassist Lee Beverly, drummer Glenn Symmonds and Chris Grove (formerly of Survivor) on keyboards. Eddie played the saxophone on “Trinidad” and “I Wanna Go Back.”
Eddie’s daughter, Jesse, joined him again for “Take Me Home Tonight” and sounded great covering the Ronnie Spector parts of the song. Eddie mentioned his family several times and then seemed truly sad because after this night, his little girl won’t be touring with dear old Dad anymore. He told the audience that Jesse will be branching out on her own and recording an album. He is a proud Daddy and relinquished the mic to Jesse as she belted out a cover of Janis Joplin’s “Turtle Blues.” She has a strong voice and performed it well. Best wishes to Jesse Money as, in her father’s footsteps, she continues to share her talent with the world. Jesse also sang “Higher & Higher” before Eddie returned to the stage to wrap things up with “Walk On Water” and “Baby Hold On.” Following a standing ovation, Eddie returned to the stage for a one song encore. The crowd remained standing and singing-a-long to “Shakin.”
To the delight of his fans, Eddie hung around after the show and signed autographs before his second show and final performance of 2010.
