2010 marks the return of the band Halford, after a seven year absence on the scene. Headed up by Rob Halford on vocals, his band features Metal Mike Chlasciak and Roy Z on guitars, Bobby Jarzombek on drums and Mike Davis on bass. Currently opening up for Ozzy Osbourne on an arena tour, this day off was filled with an intimate headlining club show. The boys hit the stage at 9:45pm to a sold-out crowd of 1300 people. Rob appeared on stage in his traditional leather studded jacket along with mirrored sunglasses and launched into the first of three selections off his 2000 CD Resurrection. On tour in support of his latest offering Halford IV: Made of Metal, five songs were featured from the disc in the 85-min set. Nailed to the Gun from Fight was a highlight along with the covers Green Manalishi and Diamonds and Rust that was previously covered by Judas Priest. Also included from the Priest catalog was Jawbreaker and a rare demo from the 1986 Turbo sessions called Heart of a Lion. Rob talked throughout the set but it was really tough to understand what was being said at times. He was very appreciative of the fans and said You cant beat playing to your own metal heads and thats what you are to us. Hard to believe this Metal God has been at it for over 40 years now, he truly earns and deserves that title. His voice and screams are still of high caliber and he is a great and natural performer. It was a real treat to see him deliver the goods on a small stage. Several shirts from Robs Metal God Apparel line were also available for purchase at the show.
