Kid Rock decided to put together a tour to raise money through his new found charitable organization which bears his name. The charity is estimated to raise $400,000 dollars over the 12 city run. Additionally, fans will be treated to seeing an artist of Kid Rocks magnitude in intimate venues that only hold approximately 1,000 people.
Buffalo, NY was included in this 12 city itinerary. The concert commenced to the sound of Journeys Don’t Stop Believing and at the point in the song where vocalist Steve Perry sings Born in raised in south Detroit, that was Rocks cue to take the stage where he kicked into Devil Without a Cause. Stage rearrangements had to be made in order to accommodate the big operation and 10-piece band that Rock has accompanying him.
Kid Rock really concentrated on the showmanship of being a charismatic front man, as he only played the acoustic guitar on Cowboy and God Bless Saturday, and donned the electric guitar on Fuckin Forty. Before this song, Kid explained that now that he is 40, the song holds an even deeper meaning for him. I wont post some of the lyrical content, but for anyone at the age of 40 its a must listen, as the words hold so many things you can relate to as you reflect on your own life.
Rock talked about his recent visit to the Buffalo bar called the Tudor Lounge the night before which provided a fitting segue to the song So Hott.
The 21 song effort was as intimate as could be. Rock did what he came to do, spreading a message of giving while showing that no matter how big the artist, they can be involved in creating a meaningful message. Kid is not only accomplishing this through his charity work, but in these club performances as well!
