KORN ‘The Path of Totality’

American nu-metal artists, Korn, recently released their tenth studio album, “The Path of Totality.” Korn has never had a problem incorporating different genres and styles into their music and isn’t afraid to try something new. On “The Path of Totality,” they experiment with house/electronica styles and showcase collaborations with artists such as Skrillex, Excision, Noisia, and others.

Korn definitely brought their “A” game for this record. The band sounds fierce and the vocals of Jonathan Davis soar. “The Path” brings the classic Korn sound of the late nineties with a bit of a different twist. The featured artists blend well with the band and enhance Korn’s sound without detracting from it. The current single, “Narcissitic Cannibal, “ features both Skrillex and Kill The Noise and is reminiscent of Korn’s “Freak On a Leash.” Skrillex also brings the electrohouse style to the tracks “Chaos Lives In Everything” and “Get Up”. “Get Up” is the best track on the album and will have Korn fans screaming the chorus with fists in the air at stadiums around the world.

“The Path of Totality” is a great album and is a must have for fans both old and new. It is “Issues” and “Follow the Leader” era Korn at their best, mixed with a fresh electronic twist. Korn has taken it to a new level and It will be interesting to see what they come up with next.
