Heavy Metal Exhibit at the Grammy Museum @ Grammy Museum, Los Angeles, California 4-11-12

The opening of the Heavy Metal exhibit took place a few hours before the Golden God Awards were presented in Los Angeles on April 11, 2012.

This exhibit had a special opening for media which we were glad to take a part in. When you first walk into the museum, you will be greeted by Fred Coury of Cinderella’s drum kit that he used on the “Heartbreak Station” tour. After bypassing this, you would make your way to the elevator which will take you to the 2nd floor where all the artifacts of this special exhibit are currently placed. Some of the artifacts housed are an original Ozzy Osbourne Black Sabbath robe, a sculpture of AC/DC’s Angus Young that was used for the “Stiff Upper Lip” album, and the Twisted Sister manhole cover featured on their album “Stay Hungry. “

So many more artifacts and album covers grace the floor, but the real gem could be Iron Maiden’s famed mascot “Eddie,” with whom many were grabbing a photo with, including former Ozzy Osbourne bassist Phil Soussan and photographer Mark Weiss. An original letter from Frank Zappa to original music from Ronnie James Dio’s “Holy Diver” also are encompassed within this exhibit.

The Grammy Museum plans on running many interactive experiences and educational segments with guests that will include Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society, to name one.

Again, any type of PR given to the well deserved rock and metal community is welcomed. The members did it right with this exhibit. This will run through February 2013 and is located at 800 West Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, California.
