We all know that Kiss bassist Gene Simmons has a lot of business ventures he’s involved in outside of the band Kiss he formed 40 years ago. His latest partnership takes him into the restaurant business as he has teamed up with Dave Furano and Michale Zislis to form Rock & Brews.
This restaurant had its grand opening on April 3, 2012 and we had to check in to see what all the fuss was about. We spoke to manager Keith Underwood and he was nice enough to give us an overview of what to expect from Rock & Brews. First we would like to tell you the restaurant is located at 143 Main Street in El Segundo, California. There are plans to open various other ones in cities like Tokyo, Denver, Atlanta, Los Cabos, Mexico and another one in L.A. by the Los Angeles Airport (LAX.)
Rock & Brews has over 80 beers to choose from and most of these include craft and local beer companies including one right across the street (Blue House Ales.) These are constantly rotated always giving the customer new choices according to Underwood. From “Openers” like a Giant Soft German Pretzel to “Encores” like Sweet Surrender Bread pudding the menu offers variance of foods for all tastes. “Frontrow” Pizzas along with “Headliner” Sandwiches are also offered.
The decor is appropriately rock based as canvas’ of Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, Black Label Society, Motley Crue and of course Kiss hang throughout the restaurant. TV’s are aplenty to appease every sports fan. A wall of rock is atop of the bar and restaurant as well. There is even a small play area for children with a sign that says “Mosh Pit Rules!”
The adage goes like this; When you are at Rock & Brews, you may not be a Rock Star, but they will make you feel like one.
