This past Tuesday, KISS unveiled their new book which is a “Monster” in more ways than one. A few select media were invited to take part in the North American book launch at Los Angeles’ The Viper Room. KISS, along with a few lovely ladies donned in KISS Makeup, were on hand to talk about the book and how it came about.
The specifics of the book are as follows: Three feet tall and two and a half feet wide! As Gene Simmons has stated on more than one occasion, size does matter! He isn’t kidding, judging by the enormous size of the so called “coffee table” book. This is by far one of the biggest books to ever be published.
Monster includes mostly never before seen photographs of the band encompassing their entire career. This book will come in 11 different forms with a flag representing one of the following countries: United States of America, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, Sweden, Russia, Finland, Brazil and a plain cover if you so choose to have it without a flag on it. Only 1,000 copies will be printed of the book and each one is specifically put together page by page and hand bound.
The detail of the book is incredible and guitarist Tommy Thayer spearheaded the project as he was in charge of many details. Thayer and his bandmates are extremely proud of how this book came out and wanted to share it with the media at the Viper room on of their off days during “The Tour” with Motley Crue.
