It was a Mighty Mighty good time in Buffalo on Thursday, when one of the region’s most beloved bands put on a show for the ages. Boston’s Mighty Mighty Bosstones have been thrilling Buffalo crowds for over two decades and show no signs of slowing down.

The twenty-four song set covered the full spectrum of the band’s career, and had many highlights including early numbers like “The Rascal King” and “1-2-8,” both of which featured a chorus of Buffalo fans helping Dicky Barrett sing the words. The latter part of the set featured the band’s most commercially successful song, “The Impression that I Get.”

Throughout the show, Dicky Barrett seemed genuinely overcome with emotion at the size and spirit of the crowd. “Buffalo is our second city, you guys have been so good to us for all these years and we appreciate it,” Barrett told the crowd.

It isn’t often that a band that has been around so long performs with such intensity and gives an audience as many accolades as Barett did. It was the type of emotion that cannot be faked, and the crowd responded by being loud and dancing hard for the whole set.
