Please stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Josh and Keith that was conducted before the show.
One of the hardest working bands in rock music, Buckcherry, is about to embark on a tour with Kid Rock in early February. Before they hit the road, they played a headlining gig at the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY before a hearty crowd. Even though temperatures were in the single digits, it didn’t derail loyal Buckcherry supporters from coming out to see a high energy, 75-minute set.
Led by the charismatic frontman Josh Todd, the band dug deep in the catalogue to play rarities such as “Imminent Bailout,” and “Carousel.” Buckcherry is getting ready to release its 6th studio effort entitled “Confessions.” For now, fans will have to remain content with just a taste of the work from “Confessions,” as they only played the first single from it called “Gluttony.” In fact, Todd remarked that the crowd did their homework after the band got a great reaction from playing it.
Along with Todd, Buckcherry continues on with the same unit they have had for the past 8 years with Xavier Muriel on drums, Jimmy Ashurts on bass, Stevie Dacanay on guitar and co-founder Keith Nelson also on guitar. These guys are as tight as can be and I for one and am eager to hear a bunch of the new songs live.
Todd and his bandmates worked medleys of The Stones “Miss You” and Kool and the Gang’s “Ladies Night” into the set while Muriel contributed a small drum solo during his introduction. Nelson and Stevie D. played off each other the entire night. They work so well together.
You will never be disappointed anytime Buckcherry is on the bill for any show. In the meantime, look for “Confessions” out on February 19, via Century Records.
