Hinder @ Rapids Theatre, Niagara Falls, New York 2-23-13

Making only the second stop on their tour, Hinder rolled into The Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY this past Saturday night. Lead by frontman Austin Winkler, they played a high-energy 17 song set, covering some of their most well known hits, (Lips Of An Angel, Get Stoned), as well as a couple of their new tracks off of their latest release titled “Welcome to the Freakshow.”

From the opening note of the show, Winkler took control of the crowd. As he ran from one end of the stage to the other. He made sure everyone got their money’s worth, reaching out to just about everyone in the front row. With his fans under his control, he belted out several fan favorites such as “Ladies Come First,” and “Better Than Me.”

About mid way through the set, the band took a short break while Winkler was joined by drummer Cody Hanson, for a two song acoustic set. Hanson donned a guitar, and joined winkler front and center on a pair of stools to perform “Get Me Away From You,” and “Thing For You.” Despite a minor hiccup in the beginning of “Get Me Away From You,” it was done very well. This showed the tremendous versatility that Hanson has.

As they wrapped up the set, they played their 2010 hit “All American Nightmare,” and their most well known track, “Lips Of An Angel.” They finished up with “Save Me,” a track from their 2012 album “Welcome to the Freakshow,” the band exited the stage.

They returned for a two song encore, including the song everyone had waited all night for called “Get Stoned,” After bringing the crowd to a feverous pitch, it was evident that Hinder had delivered the performance everyone was hoping for.
