Southern California’s Eve 6 rocked the house this past Saturday night inside the Bears Den in Niagara Falls, New York. It’s no secret that the Bears Den is the most intimate setting for a show in the Western New York area. So with that in mind, it was the perfect atmosphere for Eve 6 to show what they can still do. The band has been back with all three (3) original members, Max Collins on bass/vocals, Jon Siebels on guitar and Tony Fagenson on drums, since 2011 (all 3 disbanded in 2004).
Taking the stage at 8pm sharp, the band went into “Situation Infatuation” off of their latest effort “Speak in Code.” Collins, sporting big round shades, was very playful but yet shy most of the night. He and his bandmates really let the music do the talking. The band sounded very tight through the entire hour and 15 minute set. Fagenson was tremendous pounding the skins while Siebels was the one who kept everything in check. This let Collins step outside of his comfort zone on occasion. He actually invited up an older couple, named Blanca and Rafael, on stage to dance during the song “Open Road Song.”
The off the wall Collins did state that the band really appreciated the audience for coming out. He remarked, “you could have gone to see KISS but chose us, we thank you for that!” Well, KISS wasn’t anywhere around the area and I didn’t know what he actually meant by that. I think it was Collins being his quirky self. He made these little side tidbits during the whole performance. This came off as very endearing.
The band really packed a punch in a short set. It was well worth a Saturday night out. A much underrated band that you must see and won’t be disappointed!
