After their featured execution at this current year’s Download Festival, Linkin Park have released their new record The Hunting Party. The Californian nu-metal sextet is again getting it done, as they backpedal to the style of their initial two records, Meteora and Hybrid Theory.
The record showcases numerous collaborations – Daron Malakian of System Of A Down, rapper Rakim, guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Page Hamilton. These musicians bring distinctive styles to the tunes they perform in, giving the record a decent go of diversity. The Hunting Party is a ton heavier than the album Living Things, and will without a doubt speak to the fan base that leans towards their older heavier vibe. This come back to a heavier sound is best heard in “Rebellion” and “Guilty All The Same.”
An alternate astonishing component of The Hunting Party was Linkin Park’s approach with respect to singles for the record. They released five tunes before the collection’s release date, three of them as official singles (‘Guilty All The Same’, ‘Until It’s Gone’, ‘Last Masquerade’) and afterward, two the more on their YouTube channel (‘Wastelands’ and ‘Rebellion’).
The tune that truly demonstrates that Linkin Park is once more getting it done is “A Line In The Sand.” It’s a mix of quick paced drumming, extraordinary guitars and both Chester Bennington’s signature shouting and Mike Shinoda’s rapping.
The Hunting Party is one of Linkin Park’s best records to date, and will be a welcome changing over and getting back to what their original fans preferred about the band’s first two albums.
