When Josh Groban sings, everything else stops. At first note, his powerful voice pours out commanding instant attention. Backed by the CMAC Symphony Orchestra at Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center, Groban delivered a flawless performance that managed to feel intimate despite the large crowd.
Groban has as much personality as he does talent. He chatted with the crowd between songs and kept them laughing. Before he sang ”Play Me” by Neil Diamond, Groban quipped that when he’s writing music he’s always thinking, “What would Neil Diamond do?”
Groban played familiar favorites like “To Where You Are” and “You Raise Me Up” as well as “Falling Slowly” and “I Believe” from his most recent album ‘All That Echos.’ Under the starry summer night, Groban’s sincere and passionate performance made for a magical evening in Canandaigua, NY.
