Texas Hippie Coalition ‘Ride On’

So it’s Saturday night and you and your friends are looking to grab a few beers and have a good time. I have the absolutely perfect band to provide the soundtrack for your weekend hell raising, Texas Hippie Coalition. Their unique brand of “Red Dirt Metal” is a great combination of country and blues infused with a heavy dose of metal and their newest album, “Ride On,” is a guaranteed good time.

“Ride On” is their fourth full length album and the first with new guitarist Cord Pool and is a true showcase for what Texas Hippie Coalition is all about. With the help of Grammy winning producer Skidd Mills and collaborating songwriter Bob Marlette, the boys of THC are loud and proud as they rock us through ten outstanding tunes. The vocals of frontman Big Dad Ritch are a commanding presence especially on the heavier “Bottom of the Bottle” and Cord Pool’s guitar skills are on full display with the grooving riffs of “El Diablo Rojo.” The rhythm section of John Exall on bass and drummer Timmy Braun keep this rock and roll freight train moving forward throughout. From the sing along chorus of the first single “Monster In Me” to the classic stadium anthem “Rock Ain’t Dead,” it just doesn’t get better than this. Take that all ye non-believers!

If you like your metal the same way you like your chicken, southern fried THC style, then you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of “Ride On” today. This is bad ass rock and roll boys and girls. Don’t miss it.
