Thousand Foot Krutch ‘Oxygen:Inhale’

Canadian rockers Thousand Foot Krutch have just scored their highest charting album yet with their latest release, “Oxygen:Inhale.” Working with producer Aaron Sprinkle, the band wanted to rely on their own musical abilities and stay away from studio embillishments in order to give the record a real raw feel. The result is an album that sounds crisp and clean with a combination of hardhitting rock and spiritual ballads.

The staccato punch of “Like A Machine” gets things going with a solid bass line from Joel Bruyere and pounding drums from Steve Augustine. Frontman Trevor McNevan provides a driving riff and a good mix of his signature rock/rap vocals. The rockers keep coming with “Untraveled Road” and the lead single “Born This Way” which has a more classic rock vibe to it and has already been utilized by both college sports and Nascar. With the last four tracks, TFK changes things up with a collection of ballads. “In My Room” and “Oxygen” are both passionate and intense with swelling choruses and intimate lyrics courtesy of the multi-talented McNevan. The soft and poignant “Glow” closes out the album.

Thousand Foot Krutch wanted this release to be a true album with a story to tell and lyrically they have done just that. “Oxygen:Inhale” showcases two very different sides of TFK, one that is fiery and raucous and one that is tender and profound. Both are well worth checking out.
