Black Veil Brides ‘Black Veil Brides IV’

American rockers Black Veil Brides are back with their fourth album “Black Veil Brides IV.” Not only has their look changed over the last few years, but their sound has evolved as well. Working with producer Bob Rock (Motley Crue, Metallica), the band’s sound is a lot less metalcore and a lot more classic hard rock this time around.

Kicking off the record at warp speed is the lead single “Heart of Fire.” The song is a perfect choice with driving riffs by Jake Pitts and Jinxx, the thundering drums of Christian “CC” Coma, and a huge sing along chorus. It has all the makings of a classic arena rock anthem. “Stolen Omen” is another hard hitter and “The Shattered God” features some interesting breakdowns. The vocals of frontman Andy Biersack take center stage and he holds his own on the powerful rockers as well as the slower tracks. “Walk Away” is a poignant piano ballad and the epic “Goodbye Agony” is a powerhouse eighties style ballad.

Black Veil Brides has taken a lot of heat over the years in the rock and metal world but “IV” is a solid album of high octane rock and roll. Their combination of raw talent, strong songwriting, and high energy shows is a winning one. Love them or hate them, Black Veil Brides is a band that is here to stay.
