Friday picked up and interviews started rolling right off the bat. We were lucky enough to grab one of the greatest drummers of all time in Stewart Copeland of The Police. Stewart was doing a speaking engagement in the H.O.T zone upstairs on the 2nd floor. For us this was one of the highlights of NAMM. Stewart talked about how the Police formed and shared secrets on how they recorded some of their most popular songs. A very informative session led us to getting a few minutes with him afterwards. We also lined up interviews with the lovely Brooke Hogan who was at the Silvertone booth. After playing a few classic Alice Cooper tracks (“18” and “Poison”), we also talked to Nita Strauss and Chuck Garric at the Korg booth.
Some of the other photos from the day were from the EMG Booth (Glass Cloud: Josh Travis and Dave Markanson, also at EMG were Frank Bello (Anthrax), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Gary Holt (Exodus and Slayer) and Marten Andersson (Lizzy Borden). At the Orange Amps booth was Stephan Carpenter & Sergio Vega (Deftones). Bill Kelliher (Mastodon) was at Lace Musical. John 5 (Rob Zombie) and Aaron Rossi (Ministry) were at Reunion Blues. Metal legend Dave Mustaine was at the Seymour Duncan and Cleartone strings booths. We stopped and talked to Kim Manning of the P-Funk All Stars walking through the aisles of NAMM. We caught 7 year old Owen Riveria-Babbey all rocked out walking about NAMM. Of course what is NAMM without the eye candy and the the Dean girls provided that at the Dean booth. A few shots of the Gibson booth are here and a shot of similar drum set that was used at the 2015 Bonzo Bash. Plus some other cool shots of NAMM itself. Check them out!
