With his newest release “First Kiss” Kid Rock shows us what he does best, blending different genres of music into his own unique style. Like no other artist, he truly is a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll with a touch of everything in between.
The album kicks things off with the title track which is a perfect summertime driving song. Following is the boogie groove of “Good Times, Cheap Wine” and “Ain’t Enough Whiskey.” Kid gets sentimental as he reminisces on “Drinking Beer With Dad” and the soulful ballad “Best of Me.” Other standouts are the laidback feel of “One More Song” and the spiritual “Jesus and Bocephus.” Through it all Kid sounds great with a solid band of musicians and singers backing him up.
Over the years as Kid Rock matured so have his songs which are a real reflection of everyday life. “First Kiss” is the kind of music that takes you back in time and simply makes you feel good. It’s the perfect soundtrack for your next road trip, evening at the beach, bonfire… etc.
