Otherwise ‘Peace At All Costs’

After years of relentless touring in support of their major label debut, “True Love Never Dies,” Las Vegas rockers Otherwise are back on the scene with a brand new album, “Peace At All Costs.” The creative force of the band is driven by the Patrick brothers, Adrian on lead vocals and Ryan on lead guitar. For this record, the band chose producer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Staind) to help push those creative boundaries.

Things start out with an interesting intro “IV” before diving head first into the driving beats of “Love & War” which is a true showpiece of the hard rock stylings that Otherwise does best. The lead single “Darker Side of the Moon” is up next and with its contagious riff and full blown chorus, it is a ready made stadium anthem. There are a few slower choices as well with the acoustic guitar ballad “Walk Away” and “All the Pretty Things.” The best of the slower tracks was the laid back vibe of “Never Say” where the vocals of Adrian Patrick were heartfelt and full of emotion. The album closes with a softer piano driven outro in “V.”

“Peace At All Costs” is a solid effort from this hardworking band. As they have grown and matured, so has their songwriting and this release shows it with finely crafted songs, a precise rhythm section, well placed guitars, and stand out vocals.
