We Are Harlot ‘We Are Harlot’

Vocalist Danny Worsnop recently shocked the metalcore world when he announced he was leaving Asking Alexandria to focus all of his attention on his side project, We Are Harlot, which has just released a self titled debut album. The lineup includes Danny on lead vocals, former Sebastian Bach guitarist Jeff George, drummer Bruno Agra and Brian Weaver on bass.

“We Are Harlot” is an excellent melodic hard rock album with contagious melodies and sick solos. As a whole, the record has a real different feel to it, kind of a mix of ’80s hair metal with a lot of ’70s glam rock thrown into the mix. “Dancing On Nails” and “Dirty Little Thing” kick things off with a real feel good rock and roll attitude, a perfect chance for Worsnop’s vocals to show what they can do. There are a few heavier tracks thrown in as well with the driving riffs of “Denial” and “One More Night” with Worsnop throwing in some of his signature gritty growls. Jeff George is absolutely fantastic with some out of control and insane solos throughout the record. Not to be missed tracks are “Flying Too Close To The Sun” and my personal favorite, the album closer “I Tried” which has a real 1970s laidback vibe.

With “We Are Harlot,” Worsnop definitely takes a turn from his metalcore beginnings in a whole new direction. This a fun classic rock record with top notch songs and lots of swagger and attitude.
