Black Veil Brides ‘Alive and Burning ‘

L.A. rockers Black Veil Brides have released their first ever recorded live performance on DVD and Blu-ray via Eagle Rock Entertainment. The concert was filmed before a sold out crowd in their hometown of Los Angeles at the world renowned Wiltern Theater during their Black Mass tour.

The action opens with black and white footage of the band in the dressing room and making their way to the stage as the crowd chants “Black Veil Brides!” Kicking things off with “Heart of Fire,” BVB takes the crowd through a rousing 17 song set with a good mix of their older and newer material. Of course, the best way to experience a Black Veil Brides show is live in person but this film gives a good sense of what being at their show is like and also serves as a way to relive that special night time and time again.

With terrific camera work, you’ll get to see BVB up close and personal and experience views that you just can’t see in a live setting. The cameras also shoot from the perspective of the audience so you get a good feel of what it was like to be on the floor of the theater that night, complete with shots of hands in the air in front of you. Led by frontman Andy Biersack, BVB work the crowd like seasoned pros getting the audience pumped up and totally involved in the show.

Highlights of the concert include the stage going dark for “Overture” leading into a passionate performance of “Shadows Die.” There’s a short drum solo by Christian “CC” Coma before launching into “The Legacy” and the final songs of the set including the closing song “Fallen Angels.” The band returns for an encore of Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” and appropriately “In the End” during which occurs a pyro and confetti show as well as a quick guest spot by William Control. The extras include a meet the fans segment which shows footage of a Black Veil Brides signing from a Hot Topic in Las Vegas where it becomes clear just how much their fans love the band.

“Alive and Burning” will be a must watch for any Black Veil Brides fan and a great souvenir keepsake. It’s not the same as being there but it’s certainly the next best thing. Check it out and with the click of a button you can have Black Veil Brides performing in your living room just for you.
