The Boston based hardrockers of Rubikon have been a fixture on the music scene since 2001 but have recently made quite the splash with their latest album, “Delta.” Released on Round Hill records and produced by the legendary Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith), the record was recorded live in just two weekends and has a real raw, back to their roots kind of feel.
“Delta” is a real melting pot of sounds with straight up rockers, blues, stoner, and progressive influences all making their presence known. With 14 years of experience playing together, Rubikon is a musically tight unit as they blaze through the album opener, “Live That Lie, ” a contagious rocker and the blues of “Three Days.” Sonically, the sound is always changing with different layers being discovered each time you listen to the stoner jam of “Sermon” or the laid back “Wasting Time” that features some killer banjo work by DR. With its bluesy rock roots, solid riffs, and epic jams, “Delta” could be the game changer Rubikon has been waiting for.
