Devil City Angels ‘Devil City Angels’

Devil City Angels is the newest group of legendary rock musicians to come together and form a new band or “supergoup.” The band consists of guitarist Tracii Guns, founding member of L.A. Guns, drummer Rikki Rockett of Poison and vocalist Brandon Gibbs. Cinderella bassist Eric Brittingham recorded the record but has since left and was replaced by the legendary Rudy Sarzo on bass.

Their self-titled debut album is out on Century Media records and has ten feel good rock and roll tracks. Overall, the record is straight up rock with a real raw, live vibe to it. The songs are full of contagious hooks and crunchy riffs and, of course, the musicianship is second to none. The hard driving rock of “Numb” opens up the record followed by “All My People” which will be a great live song. Standouts are “Boneyard” and “I’m Living,” both songs will have audiences on their feet. There is even a power ballad in “Goodbye Forever” which really shows the range of frontman Brandon Gibbs.

The biggest drawback to these supergroups is that they are often short lived as members pursue their other pojects. I certainly hope that is not the case with Devil City Angels. They sound great together as if they have been a band forever and I am definitely looking forward to see what they do next.
