Pop Evil ‘Up’

With the release of their 4th studio album, “Up,” via eOne music, Pop Evil has solidified their position as a top notch hard rock band. Produced by Adam Kasper at Studio Litho and London Bridge Studios, “Up” is both infectious and contagious.

The first single “Footsteps” kicks things off. It’s a true stadium anthem as frontman Leigh Kakaty and company take you “higher, higher.” “In Disarray” is a heavier, high energy track with a riff that takes off like a rocket giving guitarists Nick Fuelling and Davey Grahs plenty of fuel to burn it up. The bass grooves of Matt DiRito are a stand out on “Ways To Get High” with a trippy vocal midway through and “Take It All ” offers a fresh almost rap/rock element. Like a punch in the gut, “Lux” and “Vendetta” are straight up heavy rockers. Kakaty’s vocals take on new depth with the acoustic “Seattle Rain,” probably the best ballad Pop Evil has ever done. Closing things out is the mid-tempo powerhouse “‘Til Kingdom Come.”

“Up” is a fun rock and roll record with catchy hooks and melodic choruses. By consistently putting out quality albums and hit tunes, Pop Evil is definitely on their way “Up.”
