Skindred ‘Volume’

No band in rock does a better job at erasing the boundaries between genres than the boys from Newport, South Wales in Skindred. Blending metal, reggae, hip-hop, and electronica into a vibe that is uniquely their own, Skindred’s music is a true amalgamation of sounds. They are back on the attack with their sixth studio album, “Volume.”

The new record is full of heavy riffs and may be their loudest yet bringing all the energy and charisma of their live shows into the studio. Things kick off with a bang with “Under Attack” and “Volume,” two adrenaline fueled songs that set the tone for things to come. Guitarist Mikey Demus really lights things up and drummer Arya Goggins provides the heart pounding backbeat. Frontman Benji Webbe adds his signature vocal stylings to songs like “Sound the Siren” and “No Justice.” Closing things out is the upbeat “Three Words” that delivers a final positive message.

“Volume” is a terrific new album and showcase for the distinctive synthesis of tones and sounds that is unequivocally Skindred.
