With over 20 million albums sold, 3 Doors Down has mastered the recipe for creating hits and radio friendly tunes. The band that had us rocking out to hits like “Kryptonite” and pining over lost loves to songs like “Here Without You” is back with their sixth studio album, “Us and the Night.” The new record continues with their established formula for success, featuring energetic rock anthems and melodic ballads.
The album kicks off with a string of high energy rockers like “The Broken” and the sexy first single “In The Dark,” which will have you singing along in no time. The driving bass of Justin Biltonen and pounding drums of Greg Upchurch power “Still Alive” and “Living In Your Hell.” Guitarists Chris Henderson and Chet Roberts provide the crunching riffs and solidly placed solos and the vocals of frontman Brad Arnold sound better than ever. There are some pleasant surprises as well with the Latin guitars of “I Don’t Wanna Know” and the piano driven “Fell from the Moon.” The laid back acoustic feel of “Pieces of Me” has a real sentimental vibe and the title track is the perfect summer time cruising or hanging with friends song.
With a well rounded collection of pop rock songs, “Us And The Night” should once again place 3 Doors Down solidly on top of the charts.
