Volbeat “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie”

There are some rock bands whose sound is so unique that it is instantly recognizable.  From the very first note of the very first riff, you just know who it is.  The Danish rockers of Volbeat are one of those bands.  Their particular blend of metal, classic rock, punk, rockabilly, and blues is discernbile to even the most casual listener.  With their latest album, “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie,” Volbeat is back with all the grooving melodies and contagious hooks that we know and love.

Frontman Michael Poulsen has done a remarkable job with the songwriting on this record, allowing that trademark Volbeat sound to shine through but never sounding stale or repetitive.  The lead track and first single “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown” is a galloping rocker followed by “Marie Lavaeu,” a tale of the famous New Orleans voodoo queen.  With the help of producer Jacob Hansen, Poulsen and guitarist Rob Caggiano deliver a vigorous and lush sonic soundscape.  The addition of KasparBoye Larsen on bass and female backing vocals by the unknown but talented Mia Maja help to achieve the plush tones. There are a few surprises as well with the Harlem Gospel Choir helping out on “Goodbye Forever” and the unique sound of bagpipes on “The Loa’s Crossroad.” The band sounds tight as the guitars of Poulsen and Caggiano tear it up on “Seal the Deal,” the most straight up metal song on the album and you won’t want to miss the bluesy groove of “Battleship Chains.”

“Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie” is another outstanding album from Volbeat.  With distinctive riffs, emotional vocals, and captivating melodies, this one is a must own for your collection.  Seal the deal for yourself and grab your copy today!
