According to various sources, Grammy award wining upright bass player and composer Rob Wasserman has passed away. Just a few short hours after Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir informed fans via social media that Wasserman was facing a serious health battle, word came that the acclaimed musician had died. Over the course of his career Rob released a series of solo albums and recorded and played with a host of muscians including Weir, Jerry Garcia, Van Morrison, Rickie Lee Jones, and Lou Reed.
