Andy Timmons Band “Theme From A Perfect World”

Andy Timmons Band “Theme From A Perfect World”

October 17, 2016 by Kris Engelhart

Out on their own label Timstone Records, the Andy Timmons Band is out with a brand new album “Theme From A Perfect World.”   Most of you are probably most familiar with Timmons from the ’80s metal band Danger Danger or his work with the likes of Simon Phillips and Kip Winger but Andy has had a long and solid solo career.

Co-produced by Timmons and long time bassist Mike Daane, the record offers up 10 new instrumental tracks with both a modern and vintage feel.  Original drummer Mike Marine is on board for five of the songs with drummer Rob Avsharian tackling the rest.  Drawing inspiration from the classic rock bands of the ’60s and ’70s and his own life events, Timmons delivers in a big way.  The sweet tones of Andy’s guitar draw you in and are as expressive as any vocalist out there.  The first track “Ascension” is bold and beautiful with a real uplifting feel to it and one of my favorites from the record.  The band is more than proficient on their instruments but it is their passion that lights up the album.  The epic title track is not to be missed and the album closer “On Your Way Sweet Soul” is a stirring emotion filled number that will dazzle you with its magnificence.

Andy Timmons has so much more to offer the music lover than his Danger Danger years of metal.  He is jazz and soul, blues and rock, all rolled into one.  “Theme From A Perfect World” is an album not just to be listened to, but expereinced and felt.  The world may not be a perfect place but this record will give you a perfect moment in time with some pretty fantastic music.
