Citizen Zero “State of Mind”

One of the hottest bands to hit the rock scene is a four piece from the Detroit area of Michigan, Citizen Zero.  Their debut album “State of Mind” is out via Wind-Up Records and is full of melodic hooks and powerful emotions.

The band plays solid classic arena rock led by vocalist Josh LeMay and guitarist Sammy Boller with bassist Sam Collins and drummer John Dudley providing a solid backbone.  The first single “Go (Let Me Save You)” and “Save the Queen” are pure anthems full of crunchy riffs and solid choruses.  The record has a gritty feel but at the same time is fresh and modern.  The lyrics are intense and honest as Le May absolutely soars on “Love Let It” and is hearfelt and poignant on “Home.”  Not to be missed is “Bangin’ In The Nails,” a unique number complete with a gospel choir that will have you on your feet in no time.

“State of Mind” is a solid beginning from a band that is simply rife with potential.  With quality songs and stand up musicianship, we can look forward to hearing a lot more from Citizen Zero in the years to come.
