According to keyboardist Jonathan Cain, former Journey vocalist Steve Perry will join his former bandmates for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April. Cain let the news out in an interview with the Dayton Daily News telling the outlet, “The ceremony is the first time we’re going to get to see Steve Perry in a long time, so that’ll be fun.” “As far as we know, he’s just going to accept the award and then skedaddle,” he added. “That’s all I know, unless something changes. Arnel is going to represent very well, like he always does.” Cain is referring to current Journey singer Arnel Pineda who has been with the group for over 10 years. “Arnel has been consistently on the road for 10 years now,” pointed out Cain. “I don’t think any singer in the band has stayed on the road as long as Arnel has. When we think back to the Steve Perry days, he wasn’t in the band for 10 years straight, faithfully being the road singer.”
The 32nd annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place for the third time at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY on Apri. 7th. The ceremony will be broadcast on Sirius XM radio and an edited version will air later on HBO.
