Following their performance of “Champion” on the TODAY Show this morning and the release of a brand new track “The Last of the Real Ones,multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated band are set to bring their lyrics to life across the country as they announce The Champion of the M A  N   I    A Tour to honor local champions across the country.

 

“Our #FOBChampion campaign is a way to spread a little light during dark times,” says the group. “We want to celebrate people that exemplify kindness, bravery, generosity, and everything else that brings goodness to the forefront.”

 

Fans can post a video or photo on Instagram with the hashtag #FOBChampion to nominate themselves, a family member, a loved one or a friend who are making a difference in their communities to be chosen as the #FOBChampion of their local tour date. Each city’s selected winner will win tickets to their local M A  N   I    A show and be brought up on stage and honored during the set – along with a shoutout on the band’s Instagram. In addition, a monetary donation will be made in the winner’s name to the charity of their choice via the Fall Out Boy Fund. The band’s release of new song “The Last of the Real Ones” – available across all DSPs NOW – provides the third glimpse of the band’s forthcoming seventh studio album M A  N   I    A, which is due out January 19, 2018 on Island Records/DCD2 Records. Kicking off October 20 in Cleveland, OH and traveling through cities such as Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Oakland and San Diego before concluding in Phoenix, AZ on November 18, the M A  N   I    A Tour will hit arenas in 20 cities across the U.S. this fall. As previously announced, $1 of every ticket sold for the tour will contribute to the Fall Out Boy Fund, which will support a number of charities. All proceeds from the November 7 show in Houston, TX will benefit Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. blackbear and Jaden Smith are set as support acts on the tour. Ahead of the band’s sold out hometown show at the House of Blues Chicago and leading the seventh-inning stretch sing-along of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at the Chicago Cubs game this Saturday, Fall Out Boy has also announced a donation via the Fall Out Boy Fund to Back to the Roots – an organization that brings gardening and food education to schools and helps inspire kids to experience the magic of growing their own food. With the funds, the band able to provide 20,000 elementary school kids in the Chicago area with an indoor gardening kit by Back to the Roots and a STEM curriculum to each student.
