Soul & funk music legend GEORGE CLINTON today announces the 2018 edition of his MARDI GRAS MADNESS TOUR, bringing his Parliament/Funkadelic machine to audiences across the nation for his signature New Orleans funk parties.  Produced by Nick Szatmari of Universal Attractions Agency (UAA), the Mardi Gras Madness Tour kicks off on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 and will hit stages across the nation for the group’s signature blend of New Orleans blues, jazz, rock, pop and gospel.  George Clinton and P-Funk will also make a special stop on Mardi Gras Day for a Fat Tuesday celebration at New York’s famed B.B. King Blues Club on February 13th.  Tickets for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic’s Mardi Gras Madness Tour are on sale this Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at 10am EST at georgeclinton.com/tour.

Recording both as Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton revolutionized R&B during the ’70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from several late-’60s acid heroes and elevating funk music to complete recognition and acceptance as a true genre in and of itself.  His legendary Mothership Tour was so influential on popular music the Mothership stage prop was recently included as a permanent installation at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened this year in Washington DC.  Clinton continues his mark on contemporary music today, most recently winning his first-ever Grammy Award in 2016 for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly.  His recent Funkadelic release, “Shake The Gate” – the first studio release under the Funkadelic brand in 30 years – was followed up with a star-studded collaboration with Kendrick Lamar & Ice Cube who joined him on a video and remix of his single “Ain’t That Funkin’ Hard on You?”  That and his recent collaboration with Flying Lotus and Thundercat at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles continue to highlight the artist’s continuing place at the forefront of popular music.

Tickets for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic’s Mardi Gras Madness Tour are on sale this Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at 10am EST at georgeclinton.com/tour.
