OUR LADY PEACE DEBUTS “DROP ME IN THE WATER” VIDEO WITH PASTE MAGAZINE HERETHE FIRST EPISODE IN THE BAND’s MINISERIES
While many may have thought OUR LADY PEACE had been on hiatus these past five years, the truth is they have slowly & meticulously been planning their next steps – their 2 volume release series entitled SOMETHINGNESS was planned to arrive on the 20th Anniversary of their hit album, CLUMSY. The band has split the album into 2 volumes.
The band has created a video series with some serious cinematic value, starring YouTube star, Matthew Santoro. “This was one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my career. As a long time fan of OLP it was truly a privilege to be a part of the visuals for such amazing music,” says Santoro. Maida adds “The Somethingness series of videos explores the personal stories that happen every day, all around us. Matt did a great job at allowing us to view these though his lens.”

The first “episode” of the series will be the video for “Drop Me In The Water” – a song from Volume 1. It will debut via PASTE Magazine today, Wednesday, October 25th. Vocalist, Raine Maida says of the video “The songs on Somethingness are working. We’ve had the unique opportunity to play them live before their release to amazing crowd reaction. The irony is, not since Clumsy, have we seen such overwhelmingly positive reaction so this tour is the perfect pairing between old & new.”
SOMETHINGNESS, Volume 1 is presently available via iTunes and Spotify – with “Hiding Place For Hearts,” “Falling Into Place,” “Nice To Meet You” and the new single “Drop Me In The Water.” The completion of the album, Volume 2 (which contains a heartfelt tribute to friend Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip who passed recently) is due out by the end of the year.
OUR LADY PEACE’s CLUMSY, released in 1997 via Columbia Records, bore the Hot 100 Airplay hit singles “SuperMan’s Dead,” “Clumsy” and “4AM.” The album attained Platinum status in the US and Diamond status in the band’s native Canada. OUR LADY PEACE’s current US tour is a celebration of 20 years of great music, starting with CLUMSY and including all their hits over the years, along with new music from SOMETHINGNESS.
