After achieving worldwide success with Hollywood Undead and the huge “Swan Songs” record, founding member Deuce made the decision to part ways with the band and pursue a solo career of his own. The multi-talented artist not only raps and sings but also handles production duties as well. It’s been five years since his 2012 solo debut “Nine Lives” but Deuce is finally back with an all new record “Invincible” which has him keeping with his signature style of rock and rap.
With a fantastic mix of hip-hop, rap, rock, and even a touch of metal, the new record has a little something for everyone. The recording of the album was split between Portland and Los Angeles resulting in quite a different feel with the more hip-hop style tracks coming from Portland and the attitude filled rockers from L.A. The lead single “Here I Come” kicks things off and has a real Eminem type feel to it with a cool beat as does “Hells Gonna Break Loose” and “Bitch This Is It.” The album sounds fresh with interesting rhythms and some killer riffs especially on the stand out rockers “Gone Tomorrow Here Today” and “Bad Attitude” that are sure to have fists pumping in the air. One of the best songs on the album is “Catch Me if You Can” with its old school punk feel. Throughout it all Deuce sounds better than ever and even slows things down with a touching shout out to his fans and supporters with “Thank You.”
“Invincible” is a unique and exciting rap/rock album that’s a hell of a lot of fun and should cement Deuce’s position at the top of the genre.
