Metal-core band In This Moment took on the Rapids Theater last Saturday, in Niagara Falls, NY to support their latest album Ritual. True to form, the Los Angeles, California based band enthralled the crowd with their over-the-top theatrics and hard pounding music that kept up the entire show.

In This Moment immediately set the nights tone by launching into “Blood,” an intense tune off the band’s 2012 album of the same name. Vocalist Maria Brink heightened the intensity, as she brought the crowd-pleasing lyrics to life. She proclaimed “We ask tonight that all of us come together as one to be reborn!”

“River of Fire” came soon after, with Brink performing through a cloud of white smoke. The frontwoman and her band of “Dirty Gentlemen” as she called them, held the near-capacity crowd’s attention throughout the night. Brink is the “Cher” of metal and gave the crowd constant costume changes throughout the set. Each costume change was more enticing than the next.

Dressed in menacing attire, makeup and masks, the band itself; Chris Howorth (lead guitar), Randy Weitzel (guitar), Travis Johnson (bass), and Kent Diimmel (drums) completed the visual spectacle of the bands performance. You can say the band’s sound was both dark and provocative.

Halfway through the show, Brink asked that all the lights be turned up so she could look into everyone’s eyes. She addressed the crowd and said “You could be anywhere in the world tonight…Snuggled up in your beds. But you’re not, you’re here. I bow down to you. We couldn’t do this without you…. Thank you so every much!”

Brink was sure to welcome all new fans in the crowd to “The Blood Legion.” In This Moment has slayed the Rapids Theater in the past and this time was no different!
