We are currently living in unprecedented times, forced by an invisible enemy to stay at home in order to keep ourselves and others safe. It has been a trying experience for many but singer-songwriter Joey Sykes is giving us a much needed lift with his latest single “Let’s Get Through This.” The accomplished musician penned the tune a few years back and was waiting on lyrical inspiration to strike. quarantining at home provided the jolt he needed to finish the song which is his thank you to the workers on the front lines who are treating the people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Joey isn’t a newcomer to the music industry by any means. He was a founding member of the band Coward and is currently a guitarist as well as the main songwriter for the legendary classic rock act The Babys. Sykes is no stranger to the road either, touring with The Babys, Tommy Henriksen, and Meredith Brooks. His songs have been used in major motion pictures including “The Purge” and “Daddy Day Camp” and on television shows such as “Nashville,” “The Hills,” and most recently “Roswell.”
His latest message is one of hope as humanity comes together to combat this virus and I think it’s safe to say we could all use a little more hope right now. Be sure and check out “Let’s Get Through This” today.
