THE HANSEROTH TWINS UNVEIL ANXIOUSLY AWAITED DEBUT ALBUM VERA

Three-time GRAMMY Award winners Phil and Tim Hanseroth, aka The Hanseroth Twins, proudly present their eagerly anticipated debut album Vera. The ten track collection, which was executive produced by longtime collaborator Brandi Carlile, is available to stream and download beginning today via Elektra. Listen HERE.

Vera – defined in Latin as true, real, genuine, actual – is the result of a lifetime creative partnership treasured, respected, and nurtured by two brothers. As such, the twins personally wrote, recorded, and produced the entire body of work face-to-face during intimate sessions in their home studios in Maple Valley, WA.

“Vera was the perfect name, because every note of this record is genuine in terms of how it was written and recorded. There’s no trickery; it’s just the truth,” shares Phil. “With how busy we get, who knows if we will get to make another record like this. Vera is a special moment in time that we’ll never forget,” adds Tim.

Musically, the pair assembles a mosaic of Americana, folk, indie, and rock threaded together with warm harmonies, eloquent storytelling, and artful live instrumentation. Lyrically, the album examines everything from childhood scars imprinted by divorce and poverty, to the complexities of mental health and class struggles. In the end, the LP finds Phil and Tim on the other side of an unbelievable journey as their songs ponder being a husband, a father, a bandmate, and a brother.

To celebrate the arrival of Vera, The Hanseroth Twins have unveiled a lyric video for “Counting The Days.” Watch it on the band’s official YouTube channel HERE. “Counting The Days” fearlessly faces mental health head-on with an unfiltered account of anxiety and uncertainty on the road. “I had a rough summer,” Tim reveals. “I was struggling with my mental health, which is especially hard when you’re constantly waking up in a different hotel room. I’m in Philadelphia crying in the shower, while my kids are doing something I’ll never get to see. It’s heavy.”

Tim and Phil introduced The Hanseroth Twins earlier this year with the release of Vera’s lead single “Remember Me.” Penned for their children, the heartfelt ballad arrived to widespread praise from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Tonight, Variety, and more. Last month, they unveiled the album’s second track “Broken Homes,” which paints an arresting portrait of a fractured family, illustrated through confessional lyrics.

The Hanseroth Twins recently made their live debut supporting Brandi Carlile in venues including London, UK’s iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane. This evening, they will return to Newport Folk Festival to celebrate the release of their album before Craigie & Slim at an official aftershow benefit concert at Newport Blues Café. Stay tuned for additional live dates from The Hanseroth Twins.

As Brandi Carlile’s longtime collaborators and bandmates, Phil and Tim Hanseroth have notably each received three GRAMMY Awards to go along with their 10 nominations, and performed sold out shows at legendary venues such Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. While still remaining Carlile’s creative collaborators, with Vera the brothers step into the forefront to share another side of their artistry with audiences everywhere.

ABOUT THE HANSEROTH TWINS:

The music of Tim and Phil Hanseroth remains forever threaded into the fabric of the 21st century American songbook and culture at large. The identical twins have co-written dozens of songs in the studio, co-produced Top 10 albums, performed thousands of gigs on stage, and reached towering heights as Brandi Carlile’s most trusted songwriting partners and creative confidants. Along the way, they’ve each garnered three GRAMMY® Awards out of 10 nominations, played for sold out crowds in legendary venues like Madison Square Garden and The Hollywood Bowl, and actualized seemingly impossible childhood dreams. An instant bond was formed with Carlile after first meeting in 1999, and, over the next two decades, their catalog blossomed alongside Carlile, including acclaimed hits like the GRAMMY® Award-winning “The Joke” (Best American Roots Song), “Bring My Flowers Now” (Best Country Song), and “Broken Horses” (Best Rock Song) as well as the gold-certified “The Story.” Dolly Parton notably covered the latter, while Adele even cut her own rendition of “Hiding My Heart.” Plus, they penned music for the likes of Tanya Tucker, Zac Brown Band, and The Highwomen, to name a few. Now, they step into the light like never before as The Hanseroth Twins, with their debut album Vera.
