When you have the last name of Presley, it carries some clout. Still after 48 years after the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley’s death, he is still loved and revered today. His former wife Priscilla has made a name for herself over that time period as well. Whether it’s starring in the “Naked Gun “movies, or playing the part of Jenna Wade on hit TV show “Dallas” to her recent participation on “Dancing With the Stars,” Presley seemed to have kept her name in the spotlight. Presley has enjoyed doing these speaking engagements over the last few years.
At these shows, Presley has talked about her time with Elvis and how she got into the entertainment business. She did back to back appearances at the Bers Den (Inside the Seneca Niagara Casino) this past weekend in Niagara Falls, NY. She was interviewed by TV personality Sandie Newton. For about an hour and 20 minutes, Presley talked about everything in her life. That included meeting Elvis when she was living in Germany, as her dad was a US Navy pilot. She shared stories about how when she came back to the United States with Elvis, she made a promise to her dad that she would get her high school diploma. She ended up cheating on an algebra test to do it and the girl who helped her got to meet Elvis for her troubles. Simple stories like that caught my attention. After her and Elvis divorced, they still were very close and remained friends. She shared a story how Elvis came to see her to get advice from her when she was dating Robert Kardashian (which I had no idea about). Presley talked about the tragic death of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley and her relationship with her granddaughter Riley Keough. She said the tabloids have portrayed her relationship with Riley as not good but couldn’t be farther from the truth she stated. She also wished her son Navarone a Happy Birthday too (March 1st). She said he was abroad but will see him soon to celebrate! The last portion was taking some audience questions before the show ended.
Again, if your a fan of Elvis, you may have known most of the stories that Priscilla shared. Regardless, the class and dignity she exhumes along with her endearing spirit made for a wonderful and entertaining evening for all who attended.
We would like to thank Phil Pantano from Pantano & Associates for the credentials to review the show.
