Willow Avalon and Waylon Wyatt join forces on new song “Smoke & Embers”

WILLOW AVALON AND WAYLON WYATT JOIN FORCES ON NEW SONG
“SMOKE & EMBERS”
AVALON CONTINUES ON THE ROAD WITH SHOWS ACROSS THE U.S., U.K. AND CANADA THIS SPRING AND SUMMER
April 2, 2025—Rising singer, songwriter and musician Willow Avalon builds on her breakthrough year, unveiling “Smoke & Embers,” a new track with fellow country star Waylon Wyatt—listen/share HERE. The song premieres alongside a music video with the duo—watch HERE.
Of the track, Avalon states, “I met Waylon at a festival last fall, and have been in love with his voice and his songs ever since. As we talked about our relationships and how hard it was to be a touring musician with a partner at home waiting for you, we realized we had a beautiful topic to write about. ‘Smoke & Embers’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve been a part of. I can’t tell you how much of a dream Waylon, his team, even his sweet papa are to work with. Forever grateful to be a part of this song. I hope y’all love it as much as I do.”
Wyatt adds, “‘Smoke & Embers’ started coming together after Willow came to my show in New York supporting Dylan Gossett. That night she invited me over to Electric Lady to hang out and I got to see her in the studio with JR Atkins working on her own music. That experience was incredibly inspirational for me, and I knew I wanted to work with them after seeing that. I ended up making my way back out to NY a few months later and we wrote and recorded ‘Smoke & Embers’ in one day, staying in the studio till about 2am to finish it. We were both dealing with struggling relationships and that balance of trying to make it in music and keep things back home good, and ‘Smoke & Embers’ ended up pourin’ out.”
Avalon adds to an already landmark 2025 with this song, following her recent performance on the main stage at C2C in London, where she played to over 20,000 people. Starting in April, Avalon continues on the road with headline shows and festival performances across the U.S. and Canada, including Lollapalooza, NCAA’s March Madness Music Festival, Calgary Stampede, Two Step Inn Festival and more. She will also support Zach Bryan for his London shows at Hyde Park and perform at select dates of Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival at the end of July. Full details and ticket information can be found at www.willowavalonmusic.com.
Her first album, Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell (January 2025), cemented Avalon as one of country music’s most compelling new voices, blending classic country, Americana and rock influences. Billboard named the track “The Actor” a “must-hear new country song” and Whiskey Riff celebrated the album saying, “Willow is a star, with talent in spades, and who has a long future ahead of her for her pure talent and songwriting savvy that, together, make a lethal combination that puts her in a league of her own.” Holler added that the album is “a resoundingly defiant collection of ruminations on the journey of a young woman challenging societal expectations.” Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell consists of fourteen tracks including breakout singles, “Tequila or Whiskey” and “Homewrecker,” which have amassed nearly 100 million views on social media to date and over 15 million streams across platforms in just the last two months.
Originally from Georgia and now based in Nashville, Willow Avalon’s musical journey began with her first word, “Elvis.” Raised by her mother and grandmother in a small Southern town, she grew up playing piano in church and taught herself guitar at age 12, using songwriting as both an escape and a means of self-expression. After independently releasing her debut single “Drivin’” in 2021, she quickly caught the industry’s attention, leading to a deal with Atlantic Records/Assemble Sound in 2023 and her EP Stranger in 2024. Her first album, Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell was released in January to immediate critical praise. She has performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and CBS Mornings, as well as festivals such as Hangout and C2C, bringing her electrifying presence to global audiences. Known for a sharp wit and rebellious spirit, she has shared stages with legends and rising stars alike, including Cage the Elephant, Paul Cauthen and Charles Wesley Godwin. With sold out headline tours in both the U.S. and the U.K., as well as hundreds of millions of views across social content, Willow Avalon is redefining what it means to be a modern Southern storyteller.
