September 10, 2025—Celebrated guitarist and songwriter Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac) and his band The Dirty Knobs are returning to the road for a run of shows in select West Coast cities this December. Titled “A Semi-Acoustic Evening with Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs—Songs and Stories from Heartbreaker,” the performances will feature the Dirty Knobs lineup including longtime Heartbreakers drummer Steve Ferrone, bassist Lance Morrison (Don Henley) and guitarist Chris Holt (Eagles). The shows find Campbell bringing his recent New York Times Best Selling memoir Heartbreaker (out now on Grand Central Publishing) to life with an evening of songs and stories dating from Campbell’s early days with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers all the way through his most recent album with The Dirty Knobs, the critically acclaimed Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits (out now via BMG).
Tickets are available via artist presale today beginning at 10 a.m. PT, with venue presales kicking off Thursday, September 11 at 10 a.m. local time. The general on-sale begins Friday, September 12 at 10 a.m. local time; see below for a complete list of dates.
Heartbreaker—written by Campbell along with author Ari Surdoval—continues to see extensive praise:

“essential…[a] vividly told new autobiography” “Heartbreaker is a tale of endurance and patience rewarded.” “Some of the book’s most endearing stories are when Campbell, closely associated with Tom Petty, worked alongside and elevated the careers of legends such as Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and Don Henley—all of whom benefited from his improv- isationalplaying style and seemingly never-ending supply of songs.” “The depth and detail in the 464-page Heartbreaker: A Memoir is impressive—and surprising…it’s spirit-lifting in spots, heart-breaking in others, and it offers a deep and revealing dive that will please Petty fans and guitar geeks alike.” |
The group’s most recent full-length Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits features appearances from Lucinda Williams, Graham Nash, Chris Stapleton and fellow Heartbreaker Benmont Tench. Salon hails the record as a “their best album yet,” while Ultimate Classic Rock notes that Campbell has “really grown into [his] role as a lead singer” and Premier Guitar raves that the record is “the most expansive and dynamic album of the Dirty Knobs’ one-of-a-kind ride.”
Earlier this summer Campbell debuted the new single “Heart of the Heartland;” stream/share the track HERE.
