Hardy @ Darien Lake, Darien Center, NY 5-29-26

THE COUNTRY! COUNTRY! TOUR! opened up the 2026 season at Darien Lake PAC this past Friday night. Hardy along with Tucker Wetmore and McCoy Moore dished out some country fun to the 13,000 plus in attendance. The tour is in support of Hardy’s latest effort titled ‘COUNTRY! COUNTRY!’ This has been rolling along since February and will continue going through October of 2026.

First up was McCoy Moore. He just released his first full length LP on May 22nd 2026 called ‘Sunshine State.” His 30 minute set consisted of the title track, “Bible and a Bar” and a Toby Keith classic “Who’s Your Daddy?” Moore had a strong voice and really made his way around the stage playing both the acoustic guitar and singing acapella. I thought Moore made the most of his 30 minute opportunity and I wouldn’t be surprised he started making headway sooner than later.

Up next was Tucker Wetmore. There was a strong contingent of fans there to see Wetmore. There were a few girls in the audience mimicking Wetmore’s look with a baseball hat and thick mustache. Wetmore knows how to work a crowd and talked about the WNY area being one of his favorite places to play and how he played there the previous year with Thomas Rhett.  His first full length LP was released over a year ago called ‘What Not To.’ His 4th single “Brunette” is currently doing very well and Wetmore ended the set with it. He also threw in a bunch of rock covers as well including the Georgia Satellites classic “Keep Your Hands to Yourself.” Wetmore, is also making his way and by the appearance of the crowd, he is really building a following.

Hardy headlined and is quickly becoming one of the biggest artists on the planet. He started his show with just him and a  fire pit on the opposite side of him while he sang “Bottomland.” He went around the stage while doing a wardrobe change (losing the camouflage) for the title track “Country Country.” Lots of fireworks went off for “Jack.”  Hardy did “Favorite Country Song” solo while his band exited.  Hardy played the acoustic for a few tracks including “UNAPOLOGETICALLY COUNTRY AS HELL” and “McArthur.” It was cool to see him perform “Wait in the Truck” as Lainey Wilson appeared on the video screen to sing her parts.  Hardy covered a lot of ground including a few covers. Those covers were: the song that Bad Company made famous in “Ready for Love” and the Blake Shelton song “God’s Country.” The later song he walked through the crowd slapping hands as he sang the song. Hardy left to do 3 encores. He closed the set with the fire and smoke filled “Truck Bed.” Hardy was everything and then some. He had a powerful show mixing both rock and country. His harder edge country is what I prefer and from what I  can see, the audience loves as well.

Overall, a triple bill of country was a great  segue into the rest of the summer concert season. The rest of the acts at Darien Lake PAC have a tough bill to follow though.
