Sixx:A.M. “Prayers for the Damned (Vol. 1)”

Sixx:A.M.

For the first time in the seven years that SIXX:A.M. has been a band, all its members are finally free of other musical obligations and fully focused on the future of SIXX:A.M. This new level of dedication has resulted in their most passionate collection of music to date with the release of their fourth studio album “Prayers for the Damned (Vol.1).”

The music on the new record is heavy and the lyrics are thought provoking, shaping an album that will not only make you think but also move your soul.  The first single and opening track “(Rise) Get Yourself Together” is a giant stadium anthem with a shout out chorus and lyrics that demand change not only from society but from deep within yourself. The adrenaline fueled session continues with “You’ve Come to the Right Place” and “I’m Sick” which showcases some truly exquisite guitar work from DJ Ashba. In fact, Ashba shines like a
light from above throughout the album with crunching riffs and perfectly placed solos. Frontman James Michael is outstanding, singing with raw abandon on “Everything Went to Hell” and “When We Were Gods” and turning out a heartrending performance on the album closer “Rise of the Melancholy Empire.”  Of course, the glue holding everything together are the driving bass lines of Nikki Sixx.

If there was any doubt about the staying power of SIXX:A.M., “Prayers for the Damned (Vol.1)” will put them to rest. The quality on the album is top notch from the songwriting to the production to the musicianship solidifying SIXX:A.M. as a true rock and roll powerhouse.
