With the new album only few days old, Buffalo, New York’s hometown heroes, the Goo Goo Dolls, played for an exclusive gathering of contest winners for radio station Star 102.5 at 716 Food & Sport. BackstageAxxess was invited to this special gathering of about 80 people to listen to a couple of new tracks “So Alive” and “Pin” and a few hits as well.
Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac played an acoustic set for their fans. They also took some questions and provided some humor in between songs. This stripped down affair really brought out the best in the Goo’s. Right around the corner from 716, was a place called The Continental (no longer there) where the Goo’s cut their teeth to become the live band everyone around the world has come to know. On a Monday afternoon, they returned the favor to their hometown fans and supporters.
The boys from Buffalo will return to the area for their full show on August 20th at Darien Lake with Collective Soul and Tribe Society. You can say this performance was Goo Goo Good!
